Why are you running for this position? I believe that student governments should empower their peers by creating campus unity and by developing leaders within the organizations. By running for SGA vice president, I strive to bridge the gap that exists between SGA and the various clubs and organizations, as well as foster more opportunities for students to hone their skills as leaders.
What changes would you like to see made next year? In the next year I hope to see the executive board members of SGA supporting and attending the major events of clubs and organizations. I believe that as the elected body of the student government, executive board members need to show that they support the efforts and entertainment provided by the very students that voted for them. I also hope to see the position of senator gain more of a role within Senate than it currently has.
Any additional comments: Whether you vote for me or not, I hope that every person who reads this paper votes. It’s essential to the student body of our campus that we have students that care about their own government. For only 10 minutes of your time, you will have the power to choose. You can’t always choose what’s for dinner in Daly’s, but you can choose your leaders.
