Three male Rider students were robbed at knifepoint during two separated but similar attacks, according to an email sent to the Rider communited.
According to the email, the first attack occurred Friday, Dec. 9 at 11:30 p.m. in the area of Susan Drive when two Rider students were approached by an unknown individual who brandished a knife. The suspect demanded cash and cell phones from the victims. The victims complied.
The email also stated that the second incident occurred on Saturday, Dec. 10 between the hours of 12:30 and 1 a.m. on Merritt Drive off Darrah Lane in Lawrenceville. The male victim was approached by an unknown individual brandishing a knife, and the suspect demanded his cell phone and and cash. This victim also complied.
“In both cases, the suspect is described as a white male, in his mid 20s, approximately 5’9” to 5’10” tall, with a thin build,” according to the email. “He was wearing jeans and a gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head, along with a black or blue bandana covering his face.”
The email noted that this individual has not been spotted on either of Rider’s campuses. Public Safety is on the lookout for the individual, and anyone who sees someone matching the suspect’s description at 609-896-5029.
