Student media honored at awards

The Rider University Network (R.U.N.) was awarded a Bronze Telly Award for an episode of The News At Rider. The Telly Award honors local and cable television programs and other productions. More than 13,000 entries from five countries vied for the awards. The fifth episode of the fall semester was honored.

The Society of Professional Journalists honored The Rider News as the 2006 Best All-Around Non-Daily Student Newspaper in the northeast region. The region includes institutions from Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, Rhode Island, New Jersey, New York and parts of Pennsylvania. The winning entries included the March 24, Oct. 20 and Dec 8 issues of last year.
