Sarah Siock, executive editorSarah Siock is a senior journalism major. She started writing for The Rider News her junior year after transferring to Rider and later became an entertainment editor. Shaun Chornobroff, managing editorShaun Chornobroff is a junior sports media major with a minor in journalism that has been writing for the Rider News since the fall of 2019. Starting off as a sports writer, Shaun eventually became sports editor in 2020 before ascending to managing editor for this upcoming school year. In the future, Shaun hopes to be a journalist covering a major college or professional team.
Tori Pender, news editorTori Pender is a senior journalism major at Rider University. Previously, she held the position of the editor-in-chief for award winning The College Voice at Mercer County Community College. Tori has received multiple New Jersey Press Foundation awards for her hard-hitting editorial and news writing, along with a second-place Associated Collegiate Press Pacemaker award in editorial writing. Olivia Nicoletti, news editorOlivia Nicoletti is a junior journalism major with a concentration in broadcast journalism and a minor in public relations. She has written for The Rider News since the fall semester of her sophomore year. At the start of this fall she will be a section editor for news. Outside of The Rider News she is a part of Greek life, specifically, a sister of Zeta Tau Alpha. Dylan Manfre, sports editorDylan Manfre is a senior journalism major and has been a member of The Rider News since he got to Rider in 2018. His first article was actually published before he set foot on campus. Dylan has won awards for his stories from the New Jersey Press Foundation and Society of Professional Journalists. Carolo Pascale, sports editorCarolo is a junior sports media major with a digital media minor and this is his third year with The Rider News. He was first a photographer, then became the photo editor in just the second semester of his freshman year. Carolo retained that position until the end of the 2020-2021 school year when he became a sports editor. Not just taking pictures for stories anymore, he now writes stories as well as dabbling in graphic design. He also works for 107.7 The Bronc as a broadcaster for Rider Ice Hockey. Carolo has even had other colleges and the MAAC post pictures that he took at the 2020-2021 MAAC Basketball Championships. Aaliyah Patel, features and entertainment editorAaliyah Patel is a senior communication studies major and health communication minor. Previously a features and entertainment reporter for The College Voice, she joined the Rider News in 2020 because of her continued passion for journalism and content creation. Aaliyah has experience creating and publishing content for many news organizations, public relation firms, and global pharmaceutical companies through her academia and internships. Additionally, Aaliyah was a first-place award recipient for the 2021 Better Newspaper contest, hosted by the New Jersey Press Association. Amethyst Martinez, features and entertainment editor Amethyst Martinez is a sophomore journalism major, and this is Amethyst’s first year working for the Rider News as an Arts & Entertainment editor. Amethyst has had a passion for writing since high school where she also worked for her local school newspaper. Last year, Amethyst had an internship writing newsletters for a nonprofit organization that plants gardens at schools across New Jersey. Things she is passionate about other than writing are women’s rights & animal rights. Danielle Jackson, Advertising ManagerDanielle Jackson is a senior double majoring in both film and history and has served as advertising manager for the Rider News since her freshman year. In addition to The Rider News she also serves as the President of Women’s Club Basketball and is a member of the on-campus diverse media collective Tapestry. Emily Kim, copy editorEmily Kim is a senior English major with a concentration in English writing and a journalism minor. Along with her participation in The Rider News, she is also involved in several on-campus clubs and organizations. When Emily is not working in the newsroom, she is copy-editing for The Venture Literary and Art Magazine. She is an active player on the Rider Club Softball team and will be serving as the captain for the 2021-2022 season. Emily was also selected to serve as a mentor for the General Liberal Arts and Sciences Studies (GLASS) Mentor Program. She will be serving her second year on the Club Sports Council Executive Board as the communications liaison. Emily has also been elected as the President of Sigma Tau Delta, an international English honor society. As a freshman, Emily initially started as a writer for The Rider News. In the spring of 2019, however, she became a copy-editor for the organization. This will be her fourth semester as a copy-editor, and she is looking forward to continuing her involvement while effectively and passionately contributing toward upcoming weekly issues. Michelle Pellegrino, copy editorMichelle Pellegrino is a junior English major concentrating in writing with a minor in general business. This is her first year working for The Rider News. A native of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, she attended Pennsbury High School where she wrote for The Pennsbury Voice from freshman to senior year. During her senior year of high school, she was also one of the heads of staff for The Voice. At Rider University, she plays on the ultimate frisbee team, is an active member of Rider’s Leadership Development Program (LDP), and is currently serving as the vice president for the English honor Society, Sigma Tau Delta. Logan VanDine, copy editorLogan VanDine is a sophomore sports media major. He started working for the Rider News in the Fall of 2020 as a sports reporter by covering sporting events and writing about the games in the sports column. He started as the Copy Editor in the Fall of 2021. Other than working for the Rider News, Logan also works for BroncVision and hosts a sports talk show at Rider’s radio station, 107.7 The Bronc and works as the Media Services Director as well for 107.7 The Bronc too. Tiffany Hartman, video editorTiffany Hartman is a senior filmmaking major who has been a member of The Rider News since last fall. Gerard Blandina, social media editorGerard is a senior filmmaking major and has been a part of The Rider News since 2018. Gerard has previously held a video editor position, and now serves as the social media editor. Karagh Tait and Jordan Wilson, circulation managersKaragh and Jordan are both juniors in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Karagh is a biology major. Dr. Jackie Incollingo“Professor I.” teaches journalism in Rider’s Department of Communication and Journalism. She is a former newspaper reporter and Washington correspondent. “I believe student journalism should be independent, fearless and creative,” Professor I. said. “I am proud of the work of Rider’s student journalists.
