An Easter Surprise
A female resident found her car in less than ideal shape after a portable basketball backboard blew over and fell onto her vehicle because of heavy wind and rain while she was dropping off a friend at University House at 8:10 p.m., on Sunday, April 24.
Public Safety arrived at the fire lane side of University House in response to the occurrence. The student explained the situation and told Public Safety she moved the backboard off her car in fear it would attract lightning and damage her car further.
The windshield was severely cracked, but no other damage was found to the vehicle.
Broken exit
Public Safety was responding to a medical emergency in Switlik Hall on Friday, April 22, at 3:23 a.m. when they observed an act of vandalism.
An unknown suspect had vandalized and broken one of the emergency exit signs in the residence hall. The estimated cost to repair the sign is unknown. A work order was filed to facilities.
