No luck of the Irish
Bad luck came in the form of a water leak on St. Patrick’s Day, affecting 10 Lincoln Hall residents and a commuter student.
The leak was reported by a male staff member on Wednesday, March 17, at 8:21 a.m. Because of the heavy rains, water came in through the windows, damaging three rooms on the second floor and three rooms on the third floor, as well as resident and commuter students’ property.
Oil spill
Things got slippery after a contract employee spilled vegetable oil on the BLC loading dock.
The incident was reported by a male staff member on Wednesday, March 17, at 2:13 p.m. He said that a contract employee had spilled it on the loading dock while transporting it with a cart.
Facilities covered the area with absorbent powder and sponges. The cost of the materials used for cleanup was about $250.
Visitor takes a tumble
A contract employee reported that a female visitor fell down the BLC main entrance stairwell on Friday, March 19, at 2:55 p.m.
The female suffered a sore knee but declined medical attention.
Spring break bandit
Two male resident students lost $800 worth of belongings over spring break.
The resident who returned first on Sunday, March 21, reported an Xbox 360, video games and DVDs stolen around 7 p.m. It was found that his roommate’s window was unlocked and that the screen of his window was damaged.
The other resident reported that some of his Nintendo Wii games and DVDs had also been stolen.
