PNG on campus
A male persona non grata (PNG) was spotted on campus by the South Entrance last week.
On Thursday, Oct. 22, at 3:55 a.m., while on duty at the kiosk, Public Safety became aware that a person who was banned from campus had returned. The officer observed that the individual had entered near the dean’s house at the South Entrance. The officer also observed the male PNG’s car in the open parking lot at the South Entrance.
A few minutes later, a male Rider student drove up to the kiosk in the PNG’s car. The PNG’d individual was then seen walking across the intramural fields. He got into the car with the student and drove around campus. Public Safety followed and was able to identify the individuals.
The two were stopped at the kiosk exit and their identities were confirmed. The PNG’d individual was charged with contempt of the system, unauthorized entry and failure to comply. The other student was not charged because he stated that he was unaware that the other individual had been made a persona non grata.
