Harassment

After throwing rocks at a student’s window, a male visitor was arrested by the Lawrence Township Police Department (LTPD), and charged with harassment last week.

Public Safety officers responded to a female resident student calling from New Building on Monday, Oct. 12, at 3:15 a.m. They were told that an individual who had been told not to return to Rider was on campus.

The individual was a male who wanted to talk to the female resident, but the two had broken up and she did not want to speak to him.

The male was advised to leave and not return. When he did, police were notified and he was taken into custody. Public Safety has recommended that he be made a persona non grata.

Alcohol violation

A male student was cited for underage drinking after yelling at a female student.

On Monday, Oct. 18, at 2:30 a.m., Public Safety officers responded to a reported disagreement between students in Hill Hall.  They met with a female staff member and the students involved.

The male student entered Hill around 2:15 a.m.  In the lobby, he was loud, profane and appeared to be intoxicated. He began yelling at a female student and waving his hands in her face. He did not stop when she asked him to. A female staff member said that he had gone back to his room, had punched something and was injured.

LTPD was notified and cited the student. An ambulance was called and the student was taken to a hospital for evaluation and treatment.
