The Broncs put up a valiant effort in the MAAC Tournament last weekend but were unable to upend Siena in the semifinals. Rider fell to the Saints, the eventual tournament champions on Sunday 72-62 after defeating Saint Peter’s 69-57 on Saturday in the quarterfinals.

Senior Ryan Thompson finished his career with a bang, dropping 22 points in the victory over the Peacocks and followed it up with 21 points in the loss to Siena. Junior Mike Ringgold scored 15 points against Saint Peter’s and was a force inside against the Saints, posting a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds.

Junior Justin Robinson and Sophomore Novar Gadson placed in 15 and 12 points, respectively, during the win against the Peacocks.

Other than Thompson and Ringgold’s effort, the Broncs only received 21 points from the rest of the team in the loss to Siena.

Rider finished the season with a 17-16 overall record and a 9-9 mark in the conference.
