Rider to maintain current food service

Rider university officials have decided to continue to work with its current food service provider, Aramark.

The university is still involved with contract negotiations. Details of the agreement will not be revealed until the contract is complete.

Aramark has been Rider’s food service provider since 2001. Chartwells, Bon Appétit, Gourmet Dining Services, Sodexo, CulinArt, Acorn and Parkhurst were all contenders.

The university worked with a consultant from Porter Khouw Consulting Inc. to narrow down its selections and ultimately choose its new provider. Two students, Tara Melick and Rachel Guida, participated in a review of the proposals and made recommendations to the food service providers.

Rider is confident that its planned renovations for Daly’s Dining Hall and Westminster’s Dining Commons will be completed and add value to students’ meal plans, according to assistant vice president for Student Affairs, Jan Freidman-Krupnick.
