On Fire!! ignites all forms of art

Monday’s creative and artistic performances of pieces from the second issue of On Fire!! included junior Marlayna Allen playing the piano.This past Monday night, the Cavalla Room hosted the premiere of the second issue of On Fire!! A Literary Journal of the African Diaspora, a compilation of poetry, narratives, photography, interviews and fiction that details the African-American experience through the eyes of various authors.

Creator and editor-in-chief Rance Robeson II published the debut issue of On Fire!! in April 2008. He is hoping to give a new voice and outlet to African-Americans on campus, as well as others in the community.

On Fire!! is not restricted to Rider students; often, other New York-based performance artists and community leaders will participate in the open literary forum.
