Meet the Lawrenceville SGA Executive Board Candidates: President

Lorelei Colbert

Hometown: Toms River, N.J.
Year: Sophomore
Major: Public Relations
Minor: Legal Studies
Clubs/Activities: SGA Vice-President. Educational Opportunity Program, Women’s Lacrosse Club President, LDP
Why are you running for this position? I am running for SGA president because of my undying passion and devotion to leadership and Student Government. I simply love it, and I think my peers can see that from my contributions to the school in my past two years.
What changes would you like to see made next year? Instead of changes, I would like to see progressions. We’ve already started making Rider feel more alive, and I cannot wait to keep improving next year. In the past year, Daly’s closing time was pushed until 9 p.m., thanks to a campus poll the gym is now open until midnight and we’re slowly getting more and more school spirit at each home game. It doesn’t stop there. The future is so promising for the home of the Broncs, and I just want to do my best to make each Rider student feel at home.
How would you go about making those changes? I would like to find a passionate cabinet. I cannot fulfill my visions by myself, and I am so excited to see who is going to join me on this venture. We have positions that vary from public relations to diversity to sustainability. If there are people on our board who are as excited about their positions and specialties as I am, the next year is almost limitless. Together, we can listen to the students’ needs and do our best to fulfill them.
