Dr. Seuss's The Lorax

Sometimes one voice is all that’s needed to make a big change. Dr. Seuss’s classic tale of environmental preservation and love, The Lorax, has been adapted into a feature-length film set for release today (which also happens to be Seuss’s birthday). As part of the Green Film Series, all Rider and Westminster students are invited to attend a trip to the AMC Loews Theater in Hamilton this Sunday, sponsored by the Office of Sustainability.

The Lorax is voiced by Danny Devito, while the role of main character Ted is played by Zac Efron. Taylor Swift voices Audrey, the girl with whom Ted is enthralled. Ted, having been raised in a world where all Truffula trees are chopped to use for clothing and pollution is rampant, discovers the Lorax’s tale of the beauty the world once radiated. Together, Ted and the Lorax are able to save the trees and ultimately the world.

Buses will leave from the Bart Luedeke Center on the Lawrenceville Campus and Westminster’s Seabrook Hall at 3:45 p.m. If you’re interested in reserving a bus seat and movie ticket, contact Melissa Greenberg at megreenberg@rider.edu, but don’t wait too long; reservations are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
