Rider University welcomed 54 new international students this semester from China, Burundi, Ghana, Qatar, France, Saudi Arabia, and Austria. As part of new student orientation, the Center for International Education took them on a day trip to Philadelphia to learn more about American history and culture. The day began with a visit to the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. The students then took a bus tour through Chinatown and stopped at Reading Terminal Market, where they had various ethnic foods to choose from for lunch. The trip continued with a photo opportunity at Love Park. The last stop was the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where the students ran up and down the steps like Rocky and took pictures with the statue. The weather may have been cold, but the students were still able to enjoy their first taste of American culture.
