Why are you running for this position and what changes would you like to see made next year? Being able to serve on the SGA executive board this past year has been a really rewarding experience. I loved being able to see the effects of my work around campus. Being vice president would give me an opportunity to give back to our community in new ways. Specifically, I would like to improve attendance at student Senate by making it more interactive for delegates and by encouraging more of the general campus community to attend. I would also like to create more weekend programming to keep students active and engaged throughout the weekends.
Why should people vote for you? I would bring a lot of enthusiasm and experience to the vice president position. As one of only two returning executive board members, I know what the position requires, and I am excited to use the position to bring SGA and our college experience to a new level.

Why should people vote for you? I am a marketing and advertising double major, and to me, it is more than just learning how to sell; it is an art form. I also am a marketing intern with our food vendor Aramark; it is more than a job, it is a passion. I am also a strong and driven leader and immensely involved on campus. I have brought passion, spirit and excitement in wherever I go. I have also been a resident for all three years. Rider is my home and last year as an RA and being involved in RHA for three years has helped me allow others to feel the same. I am also a friend. I listen to what you have to say, because I believe that anything is worth saying and hearing. I hope that you vote for me, Rachel Guida, and help me make Rider a better place.
Additional comments: I believe that the people should know who I am and who my running mates are before they vote. I want this position for all the right reasons. I am not running for a title on my résumé. I am not running for the sake of power. I am running because I want to make a difference. A world with me as SGA vice president would be about you and your voice. “Like” my Facebook page for a free wristband: www.facebook.com/jointeamrachel and if you have any more questions you can email me at: guidar@rider.edu.

Why are you running for this position? I am running for this position because I feel that I could add a different dynamic to SGA, since I am a commuter. I also have held many leadership roles on campus, and I believe I’m ready to take the next step by running for SGA vice president.
What changes would you like to see made next year? I would like to see more student involvement on campus and raise our level of school spirit.
How would you go about making those changes? I would go about this by further promoting SGA throughout campus and telling other students to promote their respective clubs and organizations as well.  For school spirit, I would try to organize a day where students will wear Rider colors to show school pride.
Why should people vote for you? People should vote for me because I have established myself as a leader on campus. I am a great people-person and would work well with students and faculty. I am very approachable so many students would feel comfortable talking to me about anything.

Year: Sophomore
Major: Secondary Education and Mathematics
Clubs/Activities: SGA Spirit and Tradition Chair, Office of Campus Life and Office of Residence Life
What changes would you like to see made next year? Next year, one change I would like to make is for the Rider community to exemplify more school spirit and pride. I would like for this to be done through specific programming that focuses on Rider spirit.
How would you go about making those changes? My first step to go about making this change is through the Rider spirit T-shirt contest and give away that was done this year by the University Affairs team and me. Next year, I would like to continue making steps in the same direction by encouraging “School Spirit Fridays” and more specific programing that promotes the spirit, pride and tradition of the Rider Broncs.
Why should people vote for you? I believe I should have the support of the student body because I am a hard worker and dedicated to improving the college experience at Rider University. I have experience in the SGA at Rider and understand what needs to happen to run a successful student government. I am aware and able to fulfill the many responsibilities that come along with [the position of] SGA vice president, such as running the student Senate.
Additional comments: Thank you for all the support. Don’t forget to come vote on April 10 in the Student Recreation Center.
