International students experience America’s pastime
On August 30, I had the opportunity to attend a Phillies game with the incoming international students. I must admit that I was a bit skeptical at first because I didn’t know what it would be like. I was afraid that there would be nothing to talk about with them and that they would just talk amongst themselves. However, I was quite wrong. I ended up learning so much about their cultures and even taught them things about American culture It was amazing to see how fascinated they were with the little aspects of our daily lives that we may not even think twice about. I also had to explain the sport of baseball to them, which proved to be a challenge because I never realized how confusing it can be for someone who has never even seen or heard of the sport. All in all, it was a great day filled with making new friends, learning about other cultures, and relaxing while watching a baseball game.
