Smoke-free
Public Safety and Lawrence Township Police officers escorted a student out of the Pub on Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 12:17 a.m. The student was allegedly smoking inside the venue. Public Safety officers noticed the student standing behind one of the poles inside the Pub. He appeared to be trying to conceal something in his hand. As the officers approached, they smelled burnt tobacco. When questioned, the student allegedly became belligerent. Lawrence Township officers were called in for assistance. The student was escorted out of the Pub and is banned from the venue until the incident has been processed.
Theft suspect flees
Student Recreation Center (SRC) employees reported a suspicious person to Public Safety officers on Sunday, Feb. 22, at 7:29 p.m. The person is a suspect in several thefts involving items missing from fitness lockers in the SRC. An employee approached the person and asked for identification. The person allegedly claimed that he did not have any identification and was a guest. The SRC employee contacted Public Safety officers. When the Public Safety cars pulled up to the SRC, the suspect allegedly exited the building and ran. Officers searched, but were unable to locate him.
Loud music
sparks altercation
A student was pushed into a door after complaining about loud music in a neighboring suite in Lincoln Hall on Monday, Feb. 23. The student confronted the people in a neighboring suite at 1:30 a.m. about loud music and talking. During the argument, one of the people in the neighboring suite allegedly pushed the complainant against the door. The complainant reported the incident to a Resident Advisor, who called Public Safety. Two students were charged with several violations, including verbal and nonverbal harassment and intimidation.
