An underage male student was spotted carrying what appeared to be a water bong outside of Poyda Hall on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 3:11 a.m. As Public Safety officers were conducting a routine patrol, they observed a male exit the residence hall with an object in his left hand. When the officer approached him, the male tried to conceal the item. When the officer asked the male what he was hiding, the male said it was a hookah. Upon closer inspection, officers determined the item looked more like a water bong, and it smelled of marijuana.
After the male consented, officers searched his room. Officers found a plastic bag containing what they suspected was marijuana. Alcohol and a tank holding two hamsters were also found in the room. The Lawrence Township Police Department was notified and took the student into custody.
Electronics missing
Two laptops, two iPods and headphones were reported missing from a room in Kroner Hall on Sunday, Nov. 16, at 9:01 a.m. The two male residents said they left their room around midnight and had locked the door. Another person was visiting them and returned to the room around 4 a.m. and went to sleep. However, when the two residents returned, it was discovered that certain items were missing from the room. The residents woke up the visitor, who did not know what happened. There were no signs of forced entry into the room. Anyone with information is asked to call Public Safety at x. 5029.
Costly door slam
A male student, who was upset about losing something, forcibly closed a door in the Fine Arts TV studio and damaged the hydraulic door closer on Sunday, Nov. 16, at 12:55 a.m. The student reported the incident to Public Safety. He was remorseful and took full responsibility for his actions. The cost of the damage is $125.
