Missing sculptures

Two sculptures stored behind the General Services Building were reported missing on Thursday, Oct. 23. The reported value of one sculpture is $45,000 and the other is $6,000. The two sculptures were displayed at Rider about 17 years ago. However, the sculptures were damaged and the pieces were scattered around Fine Arts and Centennial Lake. A faculty member collected the pieces about seven years ago and stored them behind the General Services Building.

One of the artists wanted to restore both works; however, when the artist came to collect the pieces this fall, they were gone. A staff member said he saw men loading the pieces into a pickup truck during the summer.
