A male staff member informed Public Safety that a Rider University golf cart was taken from outside Sweigart Hall on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 2:15 a.m. The staff member said he parked the golf cart outside of the business building, but when he returned, the cart was missing. All officers on patrol were made aware of the theft. Public Safety officers later found the cart in the back of the sorority lot at 3 a.m. There was nothing missing and no damage to the cart. Two resident students stole parking cones on Monday, Oct. 20, at 12:30 a.m. While monitoring a surveillance camera, Public Safety saw a vehicle stop, and an individual put cones into the vehicle before driving off. Public Safety officers pulled the vehicle over and ID’d the male and female resident students. The students were told to put the cones back. The male student said he took the cones because he was going to use them to give the other student driving lessons.
A window was broken in the lobby of Gee Hall Sunday, Oct. 19, at 4:19 a.m. A male staff member noticed the broken window and reported it to Public Safety. There were no witnesses or suspects identified. Facilities was notified for a repair and the glass was cleaned up. The cost of the repair is $100.
Hit and run
A male staff member’s car was struck in a hit and run on Wednesday, Oct. 15, between 8:20 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The male’s car was sideswiped in the Fine Arts parking lot. There was damage to the car, including paint transfer. Lawrence Township Police Department services were accepted and a report was filed. Anyone with information should call x. 5029.
