CEO, judge to speak at L’ville graduation

Two women with ties to the local area will be honored as commencement speakers at the Lawrenceville campus’ graduation ceremonies.

Honorary degrees will be given to Deborah T. Poritz, the first female chief justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court, at the undergraduate ceremony on May 9; and to 1987 Rider alumna Christy Stephenson, former president and chief executive officer of nearby Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton, at the graduate and College of Continuing Studies ceremony on May 8.

In 1989 Poritz was appointed as chief counsel to Governor Thomas H. Kean as his adviser on legal and legislative matters.

As Regional Director of Curative Health Services, Stephenson helped start-up 18 Wound Care Centers throughout the northeast United States.
