Even though the Broncs didn’t win, my experience at the “White Out” basketball game on Tuesday was much better than I expected. I usually stay up late at night, but the only 6 o’clock that exists to me is p.m. But in spite of that, my friends and I pulled an all-nighter. We played Apples to Apples, listened to music and watched movies. Before we knew it, it was 4:45 a.m. and time for breakfast, which included free Rock Star energy drinks and bagels. Finally, we were pumped and waited in line and until the doors opened. At six, the game was about to begin. Everyone received a free T-shirt for coming, and I wore mine proudly to show my school spirit.
The crowd was roaring and my friends and I were no exception. We were cheering in front of ESPN’s cameras, in hopes of getting our five seconds of fame. It was at that moment that I knew how much I loved Rider and all the friends I’ve made. It was hard to adjust at first, but all the hype for the game made me appreciate how much I have now. Rider has become my home away from home. I hope we win more games in the future and think that all students should show their support by going to the games as well.
